The World of Perpetual Calendar Watches

!±8± The World of Perpetual Calendar Watches

The perpetual calendar watches are some of the most amazing time pieces that the world has ever seen. Let me tell you why. They have a memory in the watch of 1,461 days. That is four years including a leap year. This is incredible, and most of the nice watches will not have to be reset, till 2100, only because the Gregorian Calendar stipulates that there will be no leap year in 2100.

There are many faces of perpetual calendar watches. My personal favorite is when they add a moonphase complication to the watch. These make great looking watches. I also like the Breguet men's classic line which lined up day month and leap year along a vertical axis.

The other really cool style for perpetual calendar watches are the retrograde systems. They are very appealing to the eye, and some even have the old classic jump hour feature as well. Some watches like the A. Lange & Sohne Perpetual Calendar watch have the time on side and the day of the week on the other side.

Another really cool concept to hit the market is the open face. You can actually she the movement work in the watch. The outer circles of the watch are the one where the date and time are kept. What I really like about this movement it as great way to explain how movements in watches actually work.

One of the ultimate brands of perpetual calendar watches would be the Patek Phillipe. They have always been innovative in inventing new movement, and were the first to make a watch that had enough memory to not be adjust every month. Pretty amazing stuff.
